Clashes in northern Iraq

Al-Mashriq is published daily by Al-Mashriq Institution for Media and Cultural Investments.

One Kurdish civilian was killed and fifteen wounded in the city of Kalar in clashes between security forces and demonstrators demanding improvements in public services. Demonstrators threw stones at both the offices of the PUK and security forces dispatched to break up the protest. They also burnt tyres on the road to Sulaimaniya. Kurdish cities have been suffering acute shortages of the fuel, electricity and water.
