In an unannounced visit to Iraq, president Bush arrived in Iraq Tuesday afternoon to meet with Iraqi officials. He was received by prime minister Nuri al-Maliki. Bush met with Iraqi politicians and officials to discuss the security situation and the political process in Iraq. He affirmed the American administration's support of the new elected Iraqi government to enhance the stability and rebuilding of Iraq. Media sources close to Bush said he arrived in Baghdad at 4 pm and that his visit lasted for five hours. Bush earlier held detailed meetings in Camp David with his top advisers to discuss Iraqi issues. White House officials said the visit was planned for a month but was kept confidential.
