Basra Airport Closed

Al-Sabah al-Jadeed is an independent daily paper.

Basra international airport manager Abdul Razzak Qasim said the airport will remain closed until British forces better treat passengers and staff. Transport minister Salam al-Maliki ordered the airport to shut down after (accusing British forces of) humiliating passengers and staff. Earlier, the British forces (were accused of) abusing the governor of Basra and the head of the provincial council. There has been no indication that the British forces plan on solving the issue, Qasim added.
