Baghdad's Mayor Boycotts US Forces

Al-Sabah al-Jadeed is an independent daily paper.

Baghdad mayor Hussein Ali al-Tahaan announced Monday that he will stop all cooperation and communication with US forces until an independent investigation is launched into the killing of 20 people (in al-Mustafa mosque in Baghdad.) He told journalists that there will be no cooperation with the Americans until an official committee investigates the incident. He maintained that the committee should include representatives from the US embassy and the Iraqi defence ministry and that the American military should not be involved.
