Asia Cell to Work in Erbil and Duhuk

Awene is an independent Sulaimania based weekly issued by Awene Company.

Asia Cell will expand its coverage to Erbil and Duhuk under an agreement between the (Kurdistan) ministry of transportation and communication and the company. The deal was signed on July 23 by Haidar Shekh Ali, minister of transportation and communication, and Faruq Mala Mustafa, head of Asia Cell. Asia Cell will begin its coverage in the regions beginning August 18. Ali said, "All mobile companies that work in Kurdistan should be combined and from now on citizens in Kurdistan will only need one mobile phone." Asia Cell is the biggest telecommunication company in Kurdistan and Iraq, with around 2.5 million subscribers.
