Two local commanders have handed over weapons to the disarmament commission in the Baharak district of the north-eastern province of Badakhshan, officials said on March 11. Provincial police chief Shah Jahan Noori said that the arms included 530 pieces of light and heavy weapons and six trucks of munitions. The official added that they have also submitted to the commission 100 pieces of weaponry and a quantity of munitions recently seized in the Argo district of the province.
