Angry Youths Attack INEC Officials Following Postponement of Polls

Some youths and party supporters at a polling centre in Ado Primary School in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, reacted angrily to the announcement of the postponement of the Parliamentary elections

throughout the country, by attacking officials of INEC and hindering their movement back to their office in the local government secretariat.

The youths, who suspected foul play, held the INEC officials hostage and in the process destroyed the car that brought them to the polling unit, injuring the driver.

Calm was however restored when policemen shot in the air several times to disperse the angry youths.
