Accountability process starts in Balkh

Government officials in the northern province of Balkh on March 4 began a process of accounting publicly for their work. In the first session, the heads of the provincial departments of higher education, public health, irrigation, economy and agriculture were given 30 minutes each to talk about their performance over the past year and to answer questions put by journalists. The provincial governor’s spokesman Ahmad Farhad Munir said the process would last until March 15.
