რომის პაპის სტუმრობამ თბილისში მართლმადიდებელი მრევლისა და სასულიერო პირების პროტესტის ფონზე ჩაიარა.

ფრანცისკე პირველი, რომელიც მსოფლიო მასშტაბით 1,2 მილიარდზე მეტი კათოლიკეს სულიერო წინამძღვარია, საქართველოში პრეზიდენტ გიორგი მარგველაშვილისა და საქართველოს კათალიკოს-პატრიარქის ილია მეორის მოწვევით ჩამოვიდა.

საქართველოში, სადაც მოსახლეoბის უმრავლესობა მართლმადიდებლობის მიმდევარია, კათოლიკე მრევლი დაახლოებით ოცი ათასამდე ადამიანს ითვლის, რაც ქვეყნის მთლიანი მოსახლეობის 0,8 პროცენტს შეადგენს.

საქართველოს მართლმადიდებლურ ეკლესიასა და რომის კათოლიკურ ეკლესიას შორის კავშირი მე-11 საუკუნის შემდეგ არის გაწყვეტილი.   

2013 წელს რომის პაპად არჩევის შემდეგ, ფრანცისკე პირველი თავისი მოღვაწეობის ერთ-ერთ უმნიშვნელოვანეს საკითხად მართლმადიდებლურ ეკლესიასთან განხეთქილების დაძლევას და კავშირების აღდგენას მიიჩნევს.

საპარლამენტო არჩევნებამდე ერთი კვირით ადრე რომის პაპმა პოსტსაბჭოთა სახელმწიფოში მშვიდობიანი თანაცხოვრების გზავნილით ჩამოვიდა. 

თუმცა, ჯერ კიდევ პაპის ჩამოსვლამდე, 30 სექტემბერს, სასულიერო პირების მცირე ჯგუფმა რამდენიმე ათეულ მრევლთან ერთად საპროტესტო აქცია გამართა ვატიკანის საკონსულოს წინ და ფრანცისკეს ვიზიტის გაუქმება მოითხოვა. მათი თქმით, პაპი ფრანცისკე წარმოადგენს მართმადიდებლობისთვის საფრთეს და მისი ვიზიტი მიზნად ისახავს კათოლიციზმის გავრცელებას რეგიონში.

იგივე ჯგუფი უკვე საქართველოში ჩამოსულ პაპს პლაკატებით და ლოზუნგებით დახვდა აეროპორტის გზაზე და თბილისის მიხეილ მესხის სტადიონის შესასვლელთან, წმინდა წირვის დროს.  

ოცდაშვიდი ათას მაყურებელზე გათვალისწინებულ სტადიონზე ფრანცისკე პირველის მესას დაახლოებით სამი ათასი ადამიანი ესწრებოდა, რაც საკმაოდ უჩვეულოა პაპისთვის, რომელსაც არასოდეს უჭირს მრავალათასიანი აუდიტორიის შეკრება. დამსწრეთა შორის იყვნენ სხვადასხვა ქვეყნებიდან ჩამოსული დელეგაციები, ადგილობრივი ხელისუფლების და დიპლომატიური კორპუსის წარმომადგენლები.

ფრანცისკე პირველის ვიზიტის მოწანააღმდეგეები მცხეთაშიც შეიკრიბნენ, როდესაც ის სვეტიცხოვლის საკათედრო ტაძარში მართმადიდებლური ეკლესიის წინამძღვარს ხვდებოდა.

პრეზიდენტის სასახლეში შეხვედრისას პონტიფიკოსმა თავის გამოსვლაში ხაზგასმით აღნიშნა განსხვავებულობის მიღების და უმცირესობების პატივისცემის მნიშვნელობა.

„ნებისმიერი განსხვავებულობა – ეთნიკური, ენობრივი, პოლიტიკური თუ რელიგიური – უნდა იქცეს არა წარმოშობილ უთანხმოებათა დაპირისპირებასა და გაუთავებელ ტრაგედიაში გადაზრდის საბაბად, არამედ, რაც სავსებით შესაძლებელია, ურთიერთგამდიდრების წყაროდ და საყოველთაო სიკეთედ,“ აღნიშნა მან.

საპროტესტო აქციების მიუხედავად ფრანცისკე პირველმა საქართველოში თავისი ვიზიტი დადებითად შეაფასა.

„საქართველოში ორი სიურპირზი დამხვდა,“ -განაცხადა ფრანცისკე პირველმა ვიზიტის შემდეგ. „ ერთი არის თავად საქართველო. მე ვერასოდეს წარმოვიდგენდი ქრისტიანული რწმენით სავსე ასეთ ადგილს. ეს არის მორწმუნე ერი და უძველესი ქრისტიანული კულტურის მქონე ქვეყანა, რომელსაც უამრავი წამებული ჰყავს…

ჩემი მეორე აღმოჩენა იყო საქართველოს პატრიარქი. ადამიანი უდიდესი და ღრმა რწმენით. ის არის ღვთის კაცი. მე შემძრა პატრიარქის გაცნობამ და ეს გრძნობა მქონდა მასთან ყოველი შეხვედრისას. დავტოვე გრძნობით, რომ მე ვიპოვე ნამდვილი ღვთის კაცი.“

რომის პაპმა საქართველო ორ ოქტომბერს დილით დატოვა და ერთდღიანი ვიზიტით მეზობელ აზერბაიჯანში გაემგზავრა.
