While Tajikistan is introducing inclusive schools to bring greater numbers of disabled children into the mainstream, state care provision remains patchy.
Funding for existing inclusive kindergartens comes from international donors at the moment, but some argue that the Tajik government should start supporting this kind of provision.
The audio programme, in Russian and Tajik, went out on national radio stations in Tajikistan, as part of IWPR project work funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
