Cell Phone Voter Project
IWPR's innovative Afghan election initiative is reaching beyond print to deliver news on cell phones to voters across the country.
The Cell Phone Voter Project extends a free callback service delivering up-to-date news in Pashto and Dari to inform members of the public, civil society activists and journalists. Afghans can dial a number and listen to IWPR election stories from any mobile handset for free.
The project is taking election news to remote and troubled areas of the country, and making IWPR reports accessible to those with low levels of literacy.
