IWPR is seeking a Social Media Production and Engagement consultant to train 18 current champions for 5 days in Erbil, Iraq. The training will assist the champions in producing impactful and engaging online content, which will eventually lead to expanding and diversifying partner station audiences. As the partners are new in this field, The candidate, overall, will help IWPR partners on creating, developing and producing social media production and direct online engagement.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Providing a (5) five days training course for 18 individuals
  • Preparing a visual course syllabus with rich examples and activities. The training of five days will introduce the 18 champions will cover the following in the area of social media production and online storytelling. Training content and agenda to focus on:  Creative Content Development for Social Media. Stories, and Advocacy; Ideas, tools, and tactics. Unique and original content, repurposing Radio content to online content and creative thinking tools to engage an online audience
  • Producing multi-art and creative content (text, videos, photos, infographic, live streams, stats, etc.)
  • Introducing champions to the essentials of audience engagement online (with a foundation in the principles of conflict sensitivity and cause no harm)
  • Along with agenda and training material, providing M&E material for pre & post-training tests according to IWPR requirements and templates. Agenda, training plan and curriculum for the aforementioned subject. Produce a survey to gauge the technical skill/knowledge set of the champions prior to the training. Evaluative report of the conducted course according to an IWPR’s template
  • Drafting training material and condcuting training sessions in Arabic, while reporting to IWPR in spoken and written English  


  • Fluent in spoken Arabic
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Advertising and Marketing Journalism, Media, and Communications, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field; Additional years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the educational requirement
  • A minimum of three (8+) years of experience in advertising, marketing, communications & media, international development, community organizing, advocacy, campaigning, and organizational development
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff, international, third-country nationals and local
  • High level of oral and written communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Capacity to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Working knowledge of basic budget and accounting procedures
  • Interest in and working knowledge of- Country of Assignment (Iraq)
  • Analysis and coordination and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in oral and written Arabic and English required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate activities with superiors, colleagues and field staff 
  • Ability to travel to provinces to meet with grantees and supervise offline activities
