We did not order violent protest – CPC Chairman
Against the back-drop of violent protests in Northern States won by Muhammadu Buhari, Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the Party has said it is not responsible for the mayhem.
CPC National Chairman, Prince Tony Momoh said the party did not order its supporters to embark on violent protests following the electoral set-back of Buhari.
Prince Momoh told Nigerian Election News Report (NENR) that there were however glaring irregularities in the conduct of the polls that should be urgently investigated.
He said the Party would only be satisfied if INEC releases the results from the various units as against the figures collated at the State level being announced by the Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega.
Citing some of the flaws, Prince Momoh said some vehicles were caught in Bauchi with already thumb-printed ballot papers. He also alleged that some of the printing contract for the ballot papers went to supporters of the ruling PDP.
Nigerian Election News Report has not been able to independently confirm the allegation.
