The Institute for War & Peace Reporting is an international network of three partner not-for-profit organisations. They are governed by Boards of Trustees of senior journalists, peace-building and human rights experts, regional specialists, and business and NGO professionals. An International Council links the Boards; the International Chairman is Sir David Bell, chairman of The Financial Times. The Institute is registered as a charity in the United Kingdom, an organisation with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) in the United States and a charitable foundation in The Netherlands.

Anthony Borden is the founder of the Institute for War & Peace Reporting. Anthony was editor of the highly regarded magazine War Report from 1991-98.

Cindy Sadler brings over two decades of experience in the political, public relations, nonprofit management, and financial development fields to IWPR.

Don Hinrichsen has extensive experience in fundraising, outreach and advocacy, programming and media relations.

International Partnership Director

Duncan has worked for IWPR for a number of years, during which time he has managed IWPR’s Kosovo bureau and served as liaison for field offices in five countries.

Jesse Roberts joined IWPR in April 2009 and brings extensive international experience of programme development, advocacy and fundraising.

Samuel Compton began his career as a reporter in Northern Ireland covering the violent and complex political unrest during the 1980s.

Alan Davis joined IWPR in 1994 after training as a journalist and reporting extensively from Indochina and East Asia.

Andrea Lemieux joined IWPR in April 2011, and is responsible for management and oversight of all of IWPR’s U.S.-funded programs.

John MacLeod joined IWPR in 2003. A Central Asia specialist, he has worked for the BBC, the Economist Intelligence Unit, the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and Human Rights Watch.

Daniella Peled joined IWPR in September 2009.

Syndication Editor (US)

Paul Tooher has worked with IWPR since 1999, syndicating IWPR articles during the Kosovo war and now distributing IWPR stories to hundreds of newspapers across the US on a weekly basis.

Sue Bowley joined IWPR in July 2009. She has worked in a variety of finance roles since 1985, and exclusively in the not-for-profit sector since 1996.
