The Institute for War & Peace Reporting is an international network of three partner not-for-profit organisations. They are governed by Boards of Trustees of senior journalists, peace-building and human rights experts, regional specialists, and business and NGO professionals. An International Council links the Boards; the International Chairman is Sir David Bell, chairman of The Financial Times. The Institute is registered as a charity in the United Kingdom, an organisation with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) in the United States and a charitable foundation in The Netherlands.

Founder of the Institute for War & Peace Reporting, Anthony was editor of the highly regarded magazine WarReport from 1991-98. In 1999, he was commended for the “Best Online Journalism Service” in the 1999 NetMedia journalism awards for IWPR's reporting on the Kosovo crisis. He has worked as an editor and reporter for Harper's, The Nation and The American Lawyer, and also contributed to The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune, The Guardian and other publications. He regularly comments on international justice and media issues for the BBC, CNN and other media. Anthony serves as chair of Governors of Wroxham School, a leading creative-learning state primary and a National Teaching School based in Hertfordshire, UK.

Development Manager - Africa Programmes

Jesse Roberts, Development Manager for IWPR’s Africa Programmes, joined the organisation in April 2009. Jesse is responsible for the development of projects across Africa and brings extensive international experience of programme development, advocacy and fundraising. Prior to joining IWPR, Jesse worked in the field of human rights in Sri Lanka and in London for Global Witness; an investigative non-governmental organisation, campaigning to prevent natural resourced-related conflict and corruption.

Gerry joined IWPR in January 2004 after 15 years HR Managment with Apex Charitable Trust. He has worked with the CIPD and the Criminal Records Bureau in the production of effective guidelines on the recruitment and retention of people with a criminal record. In 2001 has was invited by the Home Office to join the Advisory Committee for the Government review of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.

Alan joined IWPR in 1994 after training as a journalist and reporting extensively from Indochina and East Asia. A finalist in the UK Press Gazette Regional Journalist of the Year and the Observer Young Travel Writer of the Year, he reported from Vukovar, just before it fell to Yugoslav federal and paramilitary forces in 1991. He has designed and implemented IWPR programmes in the Balkans, the Caucasus, Central Asia and Afghanistan and leads IWPR's consultancy work.

John MacLeod joined IWPR in April 2003. A Central Asia specialist, he has worked for the BBC, the Economist Intelligence Unit, and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy in the UK and Human Rights Watch in Uzbekistan.

After completing a degree in architecture, Srđan became interested in photography, graphic and product design. While doing freelance work, he completed several web design courses at Chelsea College of Art & Design and St Martins. He joined IWPR in 2001.
