Abakhon comes to IWPR from Tajikistan, where he worked for four years, first as a Finance Officer for the Aga Khan Foundation, then as Senior Admin and Finance Officer for UNDP. He also spent seven months in Washington, DC, as an intern in the financial department of the Aga Khan Foundation, USA. He joined IWPR Afghanistan as Business & Finance Director in Dec 2004. He currently works as Programme Coordinator for Central Asia and Afghanistan. He is a graduate of Moscow State University, and is certified in International Accounting Standards. He is currently working on his certification as a Chartered Accountant.
