From IWPR’s office in The Hague, Marcel leads IWPR’s programs on the International Criminal Court and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Marcel has ten years’ senior management experience in conflict prevention and violence reduction, human rights, emergency preparedness and crisis management, peace and justice, negotiation and mediation. He co-founded and led the Institute for International Mediation and Conflict Resolution in Washington, DC. Before joining IWPR, Marcel served as project director for the Nonviolent Peaceforce Sri Lanka in Colombo. Marcel is a native Dutch speaker, and is fluent in English, French and German.
