Berlin's supreme court announced that an Iraqi accused of being a member of Ansar al-Islam, an organization with links to al-Qaeda, was arrested in Frankfort airport. The court said the individual was suspected of establishing a money transfer and collection network in Berlin in the interest of the terrorist group Ansar al-Islam in Iraq. The court identified the suspect as a 36-year-old Iraqi and gave his surname, Burhan. The court said he has direct links with an individual who plays a major role in the Ansar al-Islam network in Europe known as Ata. Ata, who is accused of leading a terrorist cell, will be tried next week in Stuttgart. He is accused of planning to assassinate Ayad Allawi, the former Iraqi interim prime minister, during Allawi's visit to Germany.
