No Objection to Troop Escalation

Al-Mashriq is published daily by Al-Mashriq Institution for Media and Cultural Investments.

A spokesman for the Iraqi government said it has no objection to extra American troops taking part in the peacekeeping process in Baghdad. Ali al-Dabbagh added that the government's goal was to safeguard the capital. President Bush decided to expand troops numbers to prevent the outbreak of civil war.
