Holistic Security Guide for Cuban Journalists (Spanish)

El Manual de Seguridad Holística para Periodistas de Cuba fue creado por IWPR en base a las experiencias y recomendaciones de periodistas trabajando en Cuba, con la participación de expertos y varias organizaciones internacionales comprometidas con la libertad de expresión y la protección de periodistas. 

El producto final es único en su tipo ya que por primera vez, integra información sobre seguridad física. psicológica, digital y legal de acuerdo a las necesidades y el contexto cubano. El objetivo del manual es fortalecer las capacidades de prevención, autoprotección y seguridad para ejercer cualquier actividad informativa en la Isla. 

Los diferentes apartados de este manual responden, de manera secuencial, a distintas necesidades que las y los periodistas tienen antes, durante y después de realizar su trabajo. La información que contiene y  las herramientas  pueden ser adoptadas de manera individual o como medio de acuerdo  a sus necesidades y circunstancias.

 


 

The Holistic Security Manual for Cuban Journalists was created by IWPR based on the experiences and recommendations of journalists working on the ground in Cuba, with the participation of experts and international organisations committed to freedom of expression and the protection of journalists.

The final product is unique in its kind, as for the first time it integrates information on physical. psychological, digital and legal  security, specific to the challenges of the Cuban context. The objective of the manual is to strengthen skills in prevention, self-protection and security to enable the free collection and dissemination of information in Cuba. 

The different sections of this manual respond, sequentially, to the different needs that journalists have before, during and after the publication of their work. The information it contains and the tools recommended can be adopted by individual journalists or integrated as security protocols by a Cuban media organisation.
